Bias FB pin for analog dimming

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM46002, TPS92510, TPS92512, TPS92513

This is the continuation of a discussion that started in the Simple Switcher forum.  I asked about using the LM46002 as a constant-current LED driver, and was directed to this document, which was extremely helpful:

However, I am also looking at using the TPS92510 - a dedicated LED driver, but also lacking built-in analog dimming capabilities.  Would it be possible to take the analog dimming circuit from the LM46002 example and add it to the TPS92510?  If so I'd think this approach could be used with any LED driver that uses a sense resistor, so this would be great stuff...

  • You can inject a signal at the current sense to analog dim, but you might want to check out the TPS92512 or TPS92513. They are improved versions of the TPS92510 with true analog dimming rather than the thermal foldback function. Obviously if you need thermal foldback that can be accomplished using analog dimming.
