Hi, I have an updated design based on the reference schematic utilizing the /AD-EN pin and a dual P FET to mix USB and Qi input into the BQ24296. I have the /PG and STAT BQ24296 pins tied to LEDs.
It seems that on initialization with the PFET VBUS input they both come on without a connected battery and then go off on battery connection. Probing VBUS on BQ24296 is approximately the PFET VBUS in. After a certain time without battery the /PG and STAT start to blink together around 2Hz with a fast off. Again they stop when connected to battery. VBUS on the BQ24296 seems to pulse and pull down with the blink. Obviously it isn't charging.
When I increase VBUS to over 6V /PG stops blinking and STAT blinks longer and slower.
When I set up the Qi coil, again its WPG does not light with a battery connected to the BQ24296. When disconnected the WPG light blinks synchronously with the /PG and STAT LED.
Why are the status lines going high with an attached battery?
Why are they blinking and pulling the VBUS down?
