BQ80XRW - Can somebody provide help information.

For the I2CWriteBlock: nWordAddr, what should be the format or syntax if i need to query Command 0x0001?

Here is quick example that can help you hopefully. This is a python script using the bq80xrw, that is reading 0x0001 using the method described in chapter 12 of the TRM (SLUUA65)

Here's what i have in Labview. 

Instead of 0x0001 i used 0x0003 for this screen capture.

There's no error, but it always spit out the last read result read from the BQ Management Studio no matter what i query in Labview.

I tried the same thing on bqStudio, and here is what I get:

I am not sure right now why the response is not coming out right on your system. Let me check to see what can cause this situation.

Also, the labview program does look correct.

It works fine on BQ Management studio, but when I used the BQ80xRW as an activeX on Labview, it doest give me the right result. It always spit out the last reading from BQ Management Studio. It looks like the write information written thru I2CWriteBlock was not written properly but i didnt get any error.

I tried to capture waveform on both SDA and SCL. The BQ80xRW 12CWriteBlock is not sending any information. As in nothing....

That makes sense then why it is always reading back the last command. I have not tried it with LabView. Let me try to set it up, but it may take a little bit of time. I will try to get back to you soon.

Swami do you know where the bq80rw library that you import is located? Is that something you could share with me?

It should be located in the "BatteryManagementStudio" folder. The default location is under "c:\ti\BatteryManagementStudio"

Thanks, pardon my ignorance but since that is a .dll binary, I don't think it can be easily imported into Python? Did you have to do anything to port the code to Python, or are you running some other module that allows you to import the .dll?

Hi Chris,
You are right, normally you have to implement a wrapper using the information in the header file to import it for python. I need some more time to check if we have any example wrappers that I can provide.
I will try to see what I can find and update you tomorrow.
