external Frequency synchronization of UCC28180 for multiphase operation

Dear Experts

While making a multiphase DC supply , i am in need of synchronization of UCC28180 with external signal coming from  microcontroller , at first glance i couldnot find any reference for the same. I think i can send Sync pulses on FREQ pin of UCC28180 but before proceeding would like to have your advice for the same. I wanted to use this(28180) low pin/part count IC instead of UC3854A which is having more componant count..

    If you wish to design a multiphase pfc controller with CCM capability then I recommend that you use the UCC28070.
    The UCC28180 is a pfc controller with CCM capability but it is not characterized for use in multiphase operation.
    Some of the PWM controllers with a timing capacitor input pin can be synchronized in the method you describe above but the UCC28180 does not have a timing capacitor input.
