Recommended Gate Driver for digitally controlled Synchronous Buck NexFET Power Block

Hello,

I am designing a digitally controlled Synchronous Buck Converter. I have chosen CSD87352Q5D (NexFET Power Block) as the main and synchronous MOSFET. TMS320F28335 control card will be used as digital controller. Can any one recommend a Gate driver IC for this application. Is LM5101A or LM5113 is suitable gate driver for this application

The Buck Converter specification are as follow.

Vin = 12 V
Vout = 1.5 V
Iload = 15A

Hello,

I am looking at the details of you inquiry now, and will follow up with a good fit for the driver. Using the TMS320F28335, the driver input logic needs to be 3.3V logic compatible. With the CSD87352 the FET drive is optimized for 5V, and must be <8V. Does your existing system have a 5V bias available for the gate drive VDD? Also, do you want independent control of the high side and low side FET drive, which means you will have to control dead time from the controller. Or is a complementary driver with internal dead time control acceptable in your application?

I have found drivers that will be compatible with the 3.3V logic from the TMS320F28335, and the input drive level of the CSC87352Q5D. NexFet power block is optimized for 5V gate drive, and had a limit of <8V.
Two recommended drivers are:
The LM5113 is a 5V Vdd compatible driver that has two independent inputs, so the high side and low side could be controlled independently if desired. If DCM operation is required.
The TPS28225 is a complimentary driver for high current sync bucks that features very short and controlled dead time between the high side and low side drivers, and is compatible with 5V Vdd. This part is controlled with a single PWM input controlling the high side, and the low side is complimentary.
