I am looking for a solution (PFC + Flyback) topology. This is a universal input, 100 watts, 15V output. I need low ripple at the output, So I can not use UCC38050. I am looking a solution with a separated inductor for the PFC (separated from the main flyback transformer. This way, I can filter the line frequency at the output of the PCF and obtain a 15V output with low ripple. Does TI has a chip with this characteristics? Thank you Victor Castrellon

Hi Victor,

If you are looking for a combo controller that separately controls a PFC stage (Boost) followed by a FLyback stage using one controller IC then we do not have this combo IC solution. If you are interested in a two stage design, then for the boost stage I would recommend using the UCC28051 as the boost PFC stage. I would have to ask some peers for a recommendation on the FLyback depending if this is what you are interested in as a solution. Let us know your thoughts.

In the event I decide to use the UCC28051, Can I use your WebBech program to help me with my design?

Webench does not support the UCC28051. We have the Mathcad tool (UCC28050 which will help) on our web site located on the UCC28051 web page on TI.com
