About TI 25V NexFET Question

Part Number: CSD16570Q5B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CSD17555Q5A, CSD17576Q5B, , CSD17570Q5B, CSD16556Q5B

Hi Sir,

May I know TI 25V NexFET VGS has 10V, 16V, 20V(ORing MOS) ? Looks above 30V MOSFET, VGS usually is 20V.

What application need VGS 10V and 16V??

My customer currently use Infineon MOS, part number is BSC018NE2LS.

I suggest him use CSD17555 or CSD17576, but him concern 30V MOS usually has big Qg than 25V.

but I concern VGS is not suitable him, please advise me if you has better solution, thanks.

  • Wen,

I am not sure I understand your question. The max Vgs of the CSD16570Q5B may be 20V,  but the part can be operated all the way down to 4.5Vgs in the ohmic region, and even lower in the saturation region, where ORing applications typically occur.

Operating above 20V can lead to damage of the FETs, but operating below it is fine.

  • Hi Sir,

Thanks for you reply. Update my question.
  • Wen,
Our best 25V device for ORing is the CSD16570Q5B. The best 30V for ORing is the CSD17570Q5B.

Both of these devices are significantly lower resistance than the Infineon device, and much higher Qg.

Why is the customer concerned about Qg? Is it an issue of gate driver strength? Are they worried about turn on / off times?

The CSD16556Q5B has significantly lower Qg, and still very low resistance if that is a concern.
