UCC3808A-2: FB pin max voltage

Part Number: UCC3808A-2

Hello, I saw this part in a design where the FB pin (2) was getting 9 volts, datasheet says 6 volts max.  VDD 14 volts.  Was wondering if this could damage the chip.

The FB pin was being used as an enable/disable.  Gets set to 9 volts to disable the UCC3808, then gets pulled to ground to enable the UCC3808.

As shown in the datasheet page 5, the Absolute Maximum voltage on FB is 6 V. As footnote #1 says:

So the bottom line is that voltages > 6 V on the FB pin could damage the device.

I would recommend modifying your enable/disable circuit to limit the FB voltage < 6 V.

I hope this helps answer your question, if so please click the "verify answer" button.

    Thanks,
