Part Number: TLV431A

Hi ,

My customer is using TLV431AIDBZR , so we supplied them in the month of Sept-16 @2500 Nos.

They took part in production and  It is observed that  IC (TLV431A1 shunt regulator IC)  pins having solderability problem.

Observations: -  1) Components leads have the blackish coating.

                                2) During re flow soldering no wettability exhibits. So difficult for Re flow soldering.

For more details kindly refer the following images.

  • Hi Vinayak,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Were there any tests performed in these parts before mounting?

Were the parts stored properly to avoid excess moisture and heat?

Is this happening to all of the parts from the same lot?

    Regards, Diego Lewis

    Hi Vinayak,

Was the bag still sealed before handing it to the customer? The concern here would be high moisture exposure.

Do you have a picture of the label on the bag? If not, can you tell me the characters on the top and bottom of the ICs?

    Regards, Diego Lewis

  • In reply to Diego Lewis:

    Hi Diego,

pls find the below label on the reel where you will find the date code information

  • In reply to Vinayak Nevpurkar:

    Hi Vinayak,

These parts have a NiPdAu finish, so they are not prone to getting tarnished.

I'd recommend you reach out to you local TI sales contact for an FA request form if you want to look further into this.

    Regards, Diego Lewis
