TPS62067-Q1: Adaption of inductor to reduce output ripple

Part Number: TPS62067-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62290-Q1, TPS62260-Q1

Hi,

intention is to use TPS62067-Q1 in following constellation:

  • Vin = 5v0
  • Vout = 3v3
  • Iout = 0.49A
  • L = 1µH

Current ripple is approx. 70%.

Is it possible to increase value of L (to e.g. 2.2µH) in order to decrease the this ripple?

Do you have any other recommendation?

Thanks & regards,
Martin

  • I would recommend to use the 1uH inductor. There is no need to reduce the inductor current ripple. You will get best performance regarding control and efficiency with this device if you stay with the recommended values.
If power good is not required you may want to check TPS62260-Q1 or TPS62290-Q1.
