TPS2660: TPS2660 output capacitance

Hello,

I am considering the TPS26601 for a product. While the datasheet says that Cout should default to 2200uF, none of the sample designs or the EVM use such a large cap. Some cases use only 1 uF.

I may have missed it, but I do not see a section discussing part selection for Cout and I would like to get away from such a large cap if this is an option. What considerations influence part choice for Cout?

Hello Michael,

Minimum output capacitance of 1uF or 2.2uF is recommended, not necessary to have higher capacitance.
TPS2660 can work with large capacitance such as 2200uF also, as in many industrial applications.
