TPS40422: current imbalance between the two channels in two-phase mode

Part Number: TPS40422

I'm operating the controller in 2-phase mode. The max current is expected to be about 50A. Ideally it is split evenly between the two phases. Care was taken in parts selection and layout so that the two channels are identical (or as much as possible). In spite of the effort some prototype boards show very different output current between the two channels, as much as 20%. Right now the load is only 50% of the max. If it were 50A, the imbalance could trigger over current limit on one channel and shut down the controller. What could cause this behavior?

Thanks

Nikko
