TPS7A30-49EVM-567: Fz value in datasheet is identified but missing (zero frequency)

Part Number: TPS7A30-49EVM-567
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A49, TPS7A30

The datasheet of the TPS7A30-49EVM-567 evaluation board has an equation containing a value called Fz.  The value Fz is not provided in the TPS7A3001 datasheet or the evaluation board datasheet.  What is the value of Fz?

  • Hi Jeff,

You are correct that we do not specify Fz in the datasheet.  This is because a Cff is not required for the LDO stability.  The presence of a Cff is therefore optional as is the size.  For both TPS7A49 and TPS7A30 we recommend a 10 nF Cff in order to maximize noise and ac performance.

The following Application Report goes into more detail on how a Cff size affects the LDO performance.

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan
