TLV741P: Where should be connected, GND or floating?

Part Number: TLV741P
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV757P

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering TLV741P and TLV757.

I would grateful if you could advise about his question.

---

Where should be connected to GND or floating.

According to the datasheet Pin Funcitons, it described only no connection.

On the other hand, Sample Layout is connected to GND.

Could I think NS should be connected to GND?

---

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

For both TLV741P and TLV757P, the NC pins are not internally connected to the die as described in the Pin Configuration and Functions section of the datasheet. As such, you may tie these pins to GND, float the pins, or even connect them to another voltage rail as needed by your specific routing needs. We generally recommend that NC pins be tied to GND if the application allows as shown in the Layout Examples section of each datasheet.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
  • Hi Ryan,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understand the NC pins of TLV741P and TLV757P are generally recommended to connect GND.

And some cases are allowed to connect to other rails.

I'll share this information with the customer.

    I appreciate your great help.

    Best regards,

    Shinichi
