BQ24171: Temperature calc tool

Part Number: BQ24171

Hi,Sir:

Does TI could provide temperature calc tool for V1/V2/V3/V3/V5 of BQ24171?

Thanks!

  • Hi Rock Shen,

You can look at this www.ti.com/.../sluc244

Go to the bq24171 tab of the excel sheet.

  • Hi,Steven:
    There is only V1 & V5 calc,
We want to known when the V1 is 0deg C, and V5 is 45deg C,
what is the temperature of V2,V3,V4?
Is any calc tool for both the temperature of V1,V2,V3,V4,V5?
For the JEITA standard,is the V1 is fixed to 0degc, and V5 fixed to 60deg C?
If no, how are the temperature of V1 and V5?
    Thanks!

  • Rock Shen,

The levels are percentage of VREF = 3.3V:
    1. VT1 = 70.8% = 2.3364V on TS
    2. VT2 = 68.6% = 2.2638V on TS
    3. VT3 = 56.1% = 1.8513V on TS
    4. VT4 = 53.7% = 1.7721V on TS
    5. VT5 = 48.1% = 1.5873V on TS

You must calculate the thermistor resistance when it is at 0C and 60C, place those numbers in the calculation tool next to R_COLD and R_HOT. The tool will give you R8 and R9, which then with those you can calculate the resistance of the thermistor at the voltage values for VT1, VT2, VT3, VT4, VT5. Once you have the thermistor values for each threshold, you can look up in the thermistor specification table for the corresponding temperature.

    Regards,
    Steven
