TLV717P: Not Start up

Hi Hirotsugu,

I have a couple questions to help debug.

1) Is the load resistive or is it a constant 2 mA load?

2) Why is your input at 0.4 V before you try to startup? Was it at a higher voltage first or did you simply pause the input at 0.4 V before continuing ramping Vin?

1)

The load is resistive. This problem has caused no load.

2)

The problem that TLV71713 doesn't sometimes start occurred. That case's VIN is 3.3V from 0V.
The condition that a problem can be reproduced 100 % is to repeat 0.4Vin and 3.3Vin.

Is there a report of a similar phenomenon?

this can have to do with the undervoltage lockout circuitry (UVLO) within the TLV717P. I remember that microcontrollers from NXP had a similar problem: When a supply voltage dip to about 0.4V occured, the internal power-on-reset circuitry didn't work, when the supply voltage afterwards increased again to nominal voltage. The only remedy was to force the supply voltage down to 0V, when a dip occured.

So, I would switch to a LDO without this UVLO feature.

This problem occurred by two out of 300.
Is it possible by a shipment test to remove?
If no, please tell me the product to which a similar problem doesn't occur by 1.3V fixed output.
