UCC38050: Use of multiplier in UCC38050

Part Number: UCC38050

Hi Friends,

Can anybody explain the use of Multiplier in PFC  internal architecture?

Regards

Aneesh

  • Hello Aneesh,
You can view a multiplier simply as the product of the voltage error amplifier output with the rectified AC line.
This signal forces the current amplifier to track the rectified AC.
Thus it provides a natural means of power factor correction.
