TPS53647: VR fault indication

Part Number: TPS53647

Hi,

I am using TPS53647RTAR device with TI power stage CSD95372BQ5MT.

I am facing issue that output voltage is not generated and VR falut pin low.

Design requirements are:

Vin = 12V

Vout= 0.85V

o/p Current requrent = 50A

Rightnow load is not connected.

Pin Status are:-

EN high (3.3V) is  Coming

V3R = 3.3V is Coming

but output voltage is not generated to 0.85V

VR_HOT is high and VR_Fault is low.

I have read the datasheet for VR_FAULT.

TSEN pin voltage input is 0.8V (temperature is coming 27deg)

I am not understanding why this falut (VR_FALUT) is coming. Please suggest some way

  • Hi Rahul,

    As shown in datasheet that there are only few cases would cause VR_FAULT# asserted (assuming it was pulled up in the beginning), and if you have confirmed TSEN is steady and clean at 0.8V from the beginning till the time VR_FAULT# got asserted, then it's very unlikely it would be caused by OTP or power stage fault. It may be very likely it was switching for a short period of time and then trigger OVP.
    Can you provide the following info for further understanding the issue?
    1. Can you probe V3P3, EN, PWM1, and VR_FAULT# on the scope and trigger by VR_FAULT# falling edge to see what happened before it got asserted?
    2. Can you connect TI USB dongle to the PMBus interfaces and open the GUI monitor page to see what fault was reported after VR_FAULT# got asserted?
