LM1086: Thermal parameter question

Hi Team,

In the thermal information chapter, RθJC(bot) has two values for control section and output section. My customer would like to know what is the area in the package for these two sections.

Hi Vincent,

The size of our control section and output section are considered proprietary and will not be shared on the public forum.

The primary heatsink for LM1086 is the metal attached to Vout. As such it is recommended to maximize the Vout plane around the LDO in order to achieve the best thermal performance.
