TPS7A83A: Setting output voltage

Dear team,

Can you please help with an example on how to configure the TPS7A83A correctly for different output values ?

For example :

My customer has Vin of 5.3 to 5.6V

He wishes to by able to fine tune the output voltage between 5 and 5.2V (by changing the ANYOUT output).

Hi Nir,

have you read section 8.1.1 of datasheet? Using the ANY-OUT network only allows the TPS7A83A to be programmed from 0.8V to 3.95V.

Dear Kai,
Thanks for your quick answer.
I have read section 8.1.1 however it doesn't explain how to achieve output of 5V to 5.2V.
To my understanding the ANY-OUT can't be used in this case at all.
How should the ANY-OUT pins be set in this case - left open ?
Should we use only the R1/R2 according the formula on the bottom of p.19 ?

Hi Nir,

yes, let the programming pins float like shown in figure 47 of datasheet and use R1/R2 to programm the output voltage according to formula (1) on page 19.

Hi Nir,

Kai is correct. Float the any-out pins when using the TPS7A83A in Adjustable Operation and use equation (1) to set the voltage divider resistor.

Do you need to dynamically adjust the output voltage while the LDO is operating or is this a one time fine tuning of the output voltage?
