LM36923H: Open/Unused Channels

Part Number: LM36923H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM36923

Hi Team,

What is the ideal way to handle open channels with the LM36923H? It seems that the device output voltage goes right up to OVP if it is accidentally turned on

Thank you.

Regards,

~John

  •  Hi Rodney,

    Any update on this?

Also, looking at the LM36923 (non-H) datasheet, it looks like the top view on page 3 of the datasheet is incorrect and is noted as "ASEL" instead of "BL_ADJ", which is called out in the pin descriptions.

    Regards,

    ~John

  • Hi John,

The LM36923 and LM36923H will set boost voltage based on lowest headroom voltage on enabled current sinks so anytime an unused current sink is enabled the boost will regulate to OVP threshold.  The only way to resolve Boost OVP during accidental enabling of unused current sink would be to connect unused current sink to supply rail > than 0.3V.  Pin A2 on LM36923 is the BL_ADJ feature whereas pin A2 on LM36923H is ASEL feature.  I will need to research and have the datasheet corrected.  Let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Randy
