Dear Sir/Madam

How much is the maximum current that  this IC can handle. My requirement is to generate an output of 36V with a maximum load  current of 3A from a 22 to 30V DC input. whether this can be used to meet my requirements.

    Hello Vishnu,

    The TPS543640 will not be the right choice for your requirements. The TPS54340 is a step down converter. Consequently, the input voltage will be stepped down to the output voltage while the power is conserved Pin=Pout*efficiency.

    I recommend using the Webench tool as a starting point to find a boost device which will fit your system requirements.
