Thanks for your interest in TI components. Based on your needs, I would recommend the UC1843A as a good replacement. The part is pin-to-pin compatible with the AP3843C, and a look at the block diagrams reveal that both parts function nearly identically.

Here is the datasheet -- I will be making some page number references to it.
On the first page, the UC184xA, UC284xA, and the UC384xA are available in different packages. On page 7 under section 6.4, the devices also exhibit different thermal characteristics. You will also find some differences under section 6.5, electrical characteristics, under the "Reference" and "Oscillator" subsections. You can quickly jump to these sections in the datasheet by searching for "UC184xA", "UC284xA", or "UC384xA", and you'll be able to find specifics regarding each of the individual specifications. From there, you can choose whichever one works best for your application.
