LMZ14201H: voltage shows up without input

Hi 

this power module's output voltage is 5V. and this 5V output is parallel with USB power to facility debug working without powering on the whole board.

question is that: is it safe for this power module if its output has 5V when input is no power?

    Hi Shusun,

    There is a chance that the output voltage will drive current back to VIN through the inductor and high-side FET body diode and damage the high-side FET. Perhaps you can put a schottky diode between VOUT to VIN to bypass the regulator when Vin has no power.
