REF3312: REF3312 Turn-On Settling Time (to 0.1%)

Hello,

 

My customer is looking for 1.25V reference having <500us Turn-On Settling Time (to 0.1%) and considering MAX6023EBT12 because it’s Turn-On Settling Time (to 0.1%) is very fast, 30us.

 

The REF3312 datasheet says Turn-On Settling Time (to 0.1%) is 2ms at CL=10uF. And minimum capacitive load is 0.1uF. Can you say when CL=0.1uF, the Turn-On Settling Time (to 0.1%) would be 20us (2ms/100)?

    The REF3312 settling time typical is 2ms with a Cl of1uF. I will need to test it in the bench to see how fast the start up is with 0.1uF but I do not think it will decrease a factor of 10.

    If your customer is interested in turn-on settling time. I would recommend the LM4051/TL4051 because those are our fastest start-up devices

    Thank you for your feedback.
    Since small size is one of key spec for their application, LM4051/TL4051 can not be a candidate this time.
    They are interested in REF3312 due to its small size, 1.5mm x 1.5mm.

    So, could you measure the Turn-On Settling Time (to 0.1%) with 0.1uF, please?

    Hi K.Hirano,

    The typical start-up time of the REF3312 with a CL=0.1uF was 750us from my bench testing. There is a reduction due to the smaller CLoad. I hope this helps.
