TPS3890-Q1: Combination MR_=3v3 & VDD=1v8 allowed?

Part Number: TPS3890-Q1

Hello,

could you please clarify, if it is allowed to apply 3v3 to the MR_, having VDD=1v8?

Or what effects have to be considered while applying a higher voltage to MR_ compared to VDD?

Best Regards, Martin

  • Martin,

According to the ABS MAX table, /MR can go up to 7V abs max. It is recommended to pull /MR up to VDD because VDD and /MR are internally connected with a pull-up resistor. In any case, just be sure to observe the required VIL and VIH values for correct /MR logic operation and keep /MR within the abs max spec.
