TPS23753: TPS23752 Design guide next steps

Hi Team:

1)    Customer sets up a PoE solution using the "Designing with the TPS23753 Powered-Device and Power Supply Controller" guide. Towards the end, the guide recommends some modeling to ensure stability of the feedback loop. Are there some tests that should be run on hardware to verify that everything is working?

2) Can he gets the MathCAD / Excel projects used for modeling in the guide?

    For testing the stability of the feedback loop, we used the a Venable Spectrum Analyzer to preform a closed loop bode analysis.

    I'll post a diagram of the test setup in the afternoon.

    Unfortunately, I do not have access to the modeling file used. The board was made way before I joined this group.

    Thanks for checking.  While I'm pretty sure how the SA analysis was probably hooked up, the test setup diagram would still be great to have.

    That's a shame about the modeling file.  Stuff like that can be so helpful.
    Please file this in the customer wish-list bucket.  The analysis files for excel/matlab/whatever save us design engineers a metric boat-load of time.  And, beyond time, some of the equations can get complex enough that making a mistake is horribly easy to do.  Let sales/marketing know that having this type of information readily available would greatly increase the likelihood of me (and I'm sure many other engineers) selecting a part for a design.

    Whenever I have discussions with sales or FAE people, I always stress that the best way to get more business from my company is to make it easy for me to use your parts.  The more work I have to do and the more hoops I have to jump through, the more likely that I'll just seek out alternate solutions.  I'm constantly amazed by how difficult some companies make it to use their products.  And I don't mean to rant - TI does a pretty good job, to be honest.  Good application notes, good reference designs, responsive forum here at e2e.  Consider me a happy camper trying to be made happier.

    Didn't mean to turn this into something so far removed from the actual question, but I couldn't help myself.  The subject lent itself well to being exploited for this excursion :)

    Thanks for the feedback. Having design calculators for customers has been on my mind for several months. it is a great tool for the the engineer,  FAE, and me. We are working on making this material available for new releases going forward. I completely understand the frustration that an engineer must have scrolling through some of our competitor's web resources. We do have it pretty good at TI, but we can do it better, in my opinion.
