We got a question from the customer about TPS53515.
Could you help us?

[Question]
- Regarding Iocl, they think there are big gap between caluclated value by equation (4) in datasheet and EC table. Please refer to below table. Which is correct, equation (4) or EC table?

- How much is the variation of Iocl at Rtrip=20k? They don't need guarantee. They will use it as reference.

Hi Tateo-san,

The EC table is correct. The EC table includes the data from production parts which we measured the Rdson first then trimmed the Ilim to get the target of +/-16% at 12A. The Rdson tolerance is included in the OCP tolerance. The equation #4 uses the typical Rdson value which will differ slightly but still within the tolerance.
As for the Rtrip=20k, I've graph the trend line based on the Rtrip of 52.3K and 38k production data and the variation is MIN=~3.5A, TYP=~5.4A, and MAX=~7.3A.

Hi, Thank you for your support. Sorry to bother you again. Could you provide the variation of Rtrip=30k and 27k? They are considering the best current limit setting under the following conditions.

Vin=12V
Vout=5V
Maximum current=5A
L=2.2uH
Inductor current rating=9.3A

Hi Tateo-San,

Please see the graph attached. These min and max values covers all range of settings. Note that 20K for Rtrip is the min value.
