UCD9222: ucd9222 and ucd9242

Part Number: UCD9222
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD7242

HI

I am using UCD9222 and UCD 9242 for powering keystone device core voltages.

I am not able to get any voltages at the outputs of ucd9242

Is device ucd 9222 comes with default configuration or it is to be configured using ti USB to GPIO  adaptor using using fusion digital power designer using PM bus interface.

My question is configuring of UCD9222 is mandatory using FUSION digital Power Designer.

What is the procedure to be followed to get the voltages at the output of the ucd 7242 device.

  • Hi Sandeep,

    We missed this post.
We will have someone to look at the problem and reply to you quickly.

    Thanks

  • UCD9222 does not come with a default configuration, it can be used with a wide variety of applications.

The Fusion Digital Power Designer (FDPD) software is used to create the configuration for the UCD9222 controller.

There are a number of methods to download the configuration to the controller, the typical method during evaluation/debug is to use the PMBus port on the device with the USB-to-GPIO adapter.

The FDPD SW has a Design tab which allows the selection of the driver/mosfet device (UCD7242) you will be using and allows you to provide additional information about your operating conditions and inductor/caps and will set the basic configuration parameters for you to allow the rail to power up.  Some things like sequencing and delay, etc. for the rails will need to be entered manually.

Once the configuration has been created then it is possible to use other methods/tools other than the FDPD to load the configuration in a production environment, but the PMBus port is still the preferred access method
