LP5569: I2C fall time out of specification

Part Number: LP5569

Hello

When customer verify the signal integrity of I2C, they find that the fall time of I2C is out of specification.

The specification of I2C fall time is MIN. 15+0.1Cb of LP5569. They get the result is 13.37ns.

Customer don't see the failure for I2C communication but they want to know whether TI has any concern for the small fall time which doesn't meet I2C specification the minimum 15 + 0.1Cb (ns) or not.

If TI doesn't have any concern about the small fall time on I2C.  Has any reliability risks due to this small fall time? Maybe damage or shortened lifetime, Thank you.

  • Hi, Patrick,

The minimum fall time is marked to make sure that the internal circuit can catch it.

It also ralates to test methods and 13ns is not a problem but keep in mind too fast fall time like less than 5ns may cause falut for communications.

    Thanks.
