Hello TI,

We use TPS40428 + CSD95372BQ5MC in our DCDC design and TI TPE proposed us CSD95378BQ5MC as alternative part for MOSFET.

After checking the parameters, I found there is only a difference of analog temperature output.

By our test result, the combination of TPS40428 + CSD95372BQ5MC has higher Tj reading on power stage around 30C.

I'd ever left this question on E2E and got the feedback of that it's a known symptom if we use this combination and recommended us changing the MOSFET to CSD95378BQ5MC.

So I want to ask is there any other difference between CSD95372BQ5MC and CSD95378BQ5MC except analog temperature output?

Can we use CSD95378BQ5MC directly in our design? Why I'm asking this because the datasheet of CSD95372BQ5MC is not same detailed as CSD95378BQ5MC.

  • Hi Stan,

    That's the only difference between two parts.

    When TPS40425 works with CSD95372B, the temperature readout will be 25c higher than the actual temperature.

    The over-temperature protection threshold needs to be adjusted accordingly.
