TPS2065C: Beaglebone black schematics change

Part Number: TPS2065C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2069C, TPS2051

Dear expert,

Basically i want to power on the BBB with 5V 2.5A

because i need 1.5A power on USB port

hence i decided to make custom BBB it will exactly same as current BBB with a slight difference

currently on BBB we have U8 (TPS2051) but i want to use TPS2069C so that my usb device gets a max current of 1.5A and by the way my usb device needs 1.5A so don't worry about it is crossing USB2.0 specification and so on. it is correct that my USB deice needs 5V 1.5A power for some reason

also if i change the FB7 (240-2384-1-ND) to (240-2393-1-ND)

my question is if i change

1. U8 (TPS2051) to TPS2069C http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps2061c.pdf

2. FB7 (240-2384-1-ND) to (240-2393-1-ND)

and use 5V 2.5A adapter

will my usb now get 1.5A current that it needs since footprint and the schematics around U8 is same or do i need to change schematics around U8

Regards

  • Hi,Nick,

This week is CN holiday. Can I reply you when I come back to office next Tuesday?

  • Hi, Nick,

I am not very clear about what you mentioned"FB7 (240-2384-1-ND) to (240-2393-1-ND) ". But to change TPS2051 to TPS2069C, you don't need to change schematic because the footprint and pin out are same. And yes, TPS2069C can supply 1.5A, it meet your requirements.

Feel free to ask any questions.

    Regards,
    Bob
