Dear SIr,

As previous discussion, BQ24780 did not support auto wake-up function and need to rely from host side.

May I know how to do it from host side?

Could you advise what auto wake-up function you need? Could you describe more detail then I can think about suitable solution?

And what kind of application you designed?

Dear Paul,

Based on this thread, the auto wake-up function is to support completely discharge battery (0V) charging.

My customer mentioned the BQ24780 cannot charging 0V battery but battery can be detected.

And as Wang5577 reply, BQ24780 needs to rely on host command to charging 0V battery.

Can you help to let me know, what command thay are?

For BQ25700A: Auto Wake up ( ChargeOption1 Reg0x30h )

The purpose is to resume the dead battery even customers don’t enable charger in default.

Auto Wake-up mode is default enable to charge battery if VBAT< VSYSMIN when adaptor plug in. the default charge current should be around 380mA.

If you disable auto wake up mode then bq25700A won’t charge battery if VBAT< VSYSMIN when adaptor plug in.

For BQ24780S: No auto wake up feature

So customer need to program internal register to enable charge mode. Reg0x14h and Reg0x15h should be program.
