Hi team,

where there is no WEBENCH for the part, can you help simulation below?Effiency and thermal simulation?

 

Vin:4.2-2.7V

Vout :3.3V

Iout: 150mA

    Hello Bonnie,

    Simulating efficiency and temperature is most probable a lot longer process than just measuring it on the EVM.

    Figures 5 and 6 in the datasheet give a good estimate for the efficiency.

    If I take the data from there, worst case efficiency is above 80%. So power dissipation in the circuit is around 100mW. Even if we assume all power dissipation is in the device and we use Theta-ja which is extremely conservative, the temperature rise is 8C.
