The document is a little bit confusing. Should I use the "IC,Analog" Failure rate which is 0.2 or the "Total FIT Rate" which is 21.2?

Hi Ravi,

For the FIT data to be relevant you must take the entirety of the device which includes IC, Inductor and Capcitor. Because of this you will be using the "Total FIT Rate" 21.2.

The general calculation of the MTBF hrs is as follows:

1 FIT = 10^−9 h−1

Equivalent MTBF(hrs)=1/FIT rate

In this case MTBF hrs = 1 / (21.2 * 10^-9) = 47,169,811
