It was suggested that for production, one could simply use the smaller .df.fs file, as it only contained the data flash characteristics, not the firmware data.
How likely is it that future versions of the target device (in my case the BQ34Z100-G1) will contain changes to the onboard firmware?
If there is a production run in, say, two years, is it reasonable to only use the .df.fs file for commissioning a battery monitor? Or is it possible that future runs of the battery monitor will have new firmware that could cause the commissioning process to fail?
