SN75468: SN75468 temperature range - broken for almost 4 years. When will datasheet be fixed?

Part Number: SN75468

This was raised previously on a forum and marked that TI considers resolved.

On page 4, Absolute Maximum Ratings: Operating virtual junction temperature is 150C

Also on page 4, Recommended Operating Temperature:Tj Junction temperature is -40 to +125C

On page 9, Detailed Description, Overview.  "This device can operate over a wide temperature range (-40C to +105C)

On page 11, Power Dissopation and Temperature.  "It is recommended to limit SN75468 IC’s die junction temperature to less than 125°C."

On Addendum-Page 1, Op Temp is 0 to 70C for all packaging options.

In search tool comparing all of TI's transistor arrays, most of which specify -40C min, and 85 or 100C max, SN75468 shows 0 to 70C.

If operation beyond 0 to 70C is OK, PLEASE FIX DATASHEET and update parametric search database.

  • Hi Robert,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E. I appreciate the comments about the datasheet, to clarify the device junction absolute max is 150C. Although the junction can reach 150C, we do not recommend this temperature for long-term use, hence the recommended junction temperature from -40C to 125C.

Regarding the overview on page 9, this refers to the ambient temperature. You are correct about the Packaging Information, we will update this accordingly.

    Thanks,

    Arthur Huang
