TLV710: TLV7101828-Q1 dual output capability

Part Number: TLV710

Hi team,

From the dayasheet, we know the TLV7101828-Q1 can be output 200mA for each output.

May I know what are the max current output for both output(2.8V and 1.8V) are enable? Still 200mA each(400mA total)?

Thank you!

  • Hi Zoe,

    Both outputs are capable of a load current of 200 mA at the same time; however, you will need to also consider the thermal performance.

    You can use the Rthetaja from the Thermal Information table for a first pass check on your thermal performance. The Thermal Information table is modeled on the JEDEC High-K board. From this table we see that Rthetaja is 190.5 C/W for TLV710-Q1. Please note that the maximum recommended junction temperature for this dual LDO is 125 C. For this dual LDO, the total power dissipation will be:

    Pd = (Vin - Vout1) x Iout1 + (Vin - Vout2) x Iout 2

    We can use this information as well as your application's maximum ambient temperature to calculate your maximum ambient temperature and intended Vin with the full 200 mA load on both outputs:

    Tj_max = Rthetaja x Pd + Ta_max
    125 C = 190.5 C/W x [(Vin - 2.8 V) x 200 mA + (Vin - 1.8 V) x 200 mA] + Ta_max

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
