LMZ21700: LMZ21700 EMI Protection

Hi,

We're designing a product with LMZ21700. For EMI tests, we shielded the power block with RF shield. Before the power block, we have LC filter, which is BNX026H01L. Should we also use shield for our LC filter for EMI tests ?

    Hi Alikaan,

    I dont think shielding the LC filter would be necessary. I think having a RF shield on the switching regulator should be sufficient. Also please make sure to follow the datasheet's recommended PCB layout. Specifically take note of the sensitive nodes in the circuit such as the FB pin and VOS pin. If you have any uController or data lines, make sure to route them on a different layer of the board since VOS pin could couple any externally generated noise on your circuit board if close enough on the same layer.
