TPS61088EVM-677: Load Test problem

We are using TPS61088RHLR evaluation board. This board should provide 9V, 3A output for a input voltage of 3.3V. But we are observing that, If the load current is increased beyond 1.2Amps , The output collapses to 5V with ripples and an audible noise coming from the Inductor. As per design parameters for this evaluation board, this behavior should not happen. We are using rheostat do load testing.

Dear Sir,

Did you make any change to the EVM board? And what is the on board Vin voltage? As there's voltage drop in the input cable, so you need to make sure the power supply output is higher than 3.3V to make sure the on board voltage is >=3.3V.

I have not done any changes in evaluation board. Let me check and update you by changing input cable.. On board voltage is 3.5V.

Hi Sir,

Thanks for the update!

1. Could you please check the resistance from the Ilim to GND? it should be 100 kohm.

2. And you can also check the Rcomp and Ccomp, suggest you change them to new components. You can change Ccomp=4.7nF to a new 4.7nF cap in case it is damaged.
