TPS653850-Q1: Is it have passed ASIL-D?

Part Number: TPS653850-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS653853-Q1,

We found TPS653853-Q1 and TPS653850-Q1's specs are very similar.

TPS653853-Q1 has passed ASIL D.

How about TPS653850-Q1?

  • Ming,

The TPS653853-Q1 and the TPS653850-Q1 are in the same TPS65385x family of devices, based on the same core design, and should have the same qualifications for automotive regarding safety.

The TPS653853-Q1 has an additional feature set, called steering angle monitoring (SAM).
The TPS653850-Q1 does not include this feature.

In order to get the full datasheet of both devices and additional info regarding automotive safety (ASIL) qualification, you will need to fill out the form to gain access to the "mySecureSoftware" system. You can click this link, www.ti.com/.../swlicexportcontrol.tsp, which is also provided in the product folder of both devices (labeled "Request Now")
  • Hi MIng,

Both devices, TPS653850-Q1 and TPS653853-Q1 are SEooC (Safety Element out of Context) devices developed to support up to ASIL-D systems. Only systems can be certified to an ASIL level, not IC components. These PMICs are developed on a development process with ASIL-D compatibility and with features in the SEooC showing support to ASIL-D.

    Best Regards,
    Scott
