Hello,

What did we use to drive the TLC5958 parts with in this reference design and application note?

Given that it requires a GCLK of around 33 MHz, I don’t think TI used a standard processor. Did TI use an FPGA to drive these LED drivers?

Hi, Ryan,

Yes, you are right. we bought the controller from the third part, It use FPGA to control the sequence and transmission.

Generally, the customer will use the controller and receiver card from the third part to build the system. In this application, we use the controller and receiver card from Novastar company.

Hi Kevin,

I can not suggest a specific for this, since different controller/receiver may be suitable for different LED panel, you can contact with the supplier for more details, they can help you with the design.

I understand that the customer will need to select a particular controller to match their end application.

But to help us fully understand how that TI reference design works, can you let us know what Novastar controller we used?
