There is the same problem. We have set UCD9222 TI 42K on several boards. After exporting the program from working UCD9222 TI 62I, I have tried to download firmware to UCD9222 TI 42K unsuccessfully.

I suspect you mean you have exported your configuration file from the live device. Exporting FW requires a password and there should be no reason to export/import FW, the configuration file overlays the FW to enable your power system.
Please try the Firmware & Configuration Download Tool.
You will leave the Firmware entries blank.
Click the UCD92xx for IC Family
Enter the address of the device to be configured.
Depending how you exported the configuration, select either the Project File or the Data Flash File radio button.
Use the Select File button to navigate to the location of the configuration file.
You can scan for the attached device but this is not required.
The Start button is grayed out in this image because I have not entered the required information, pressing Start will commence the configuration download.
Thanks for solution. We are surprised 4 boards of 8 were updated successfully, but others, so far, unsuccessfully.
