LM25118: How to adjust the input voltage of demo board to 3V and output current to 6A

Part Number: LM25118

Hi all:

        I have a demo of LM25118,LM25118EVAL。

Demo data shows that the input voltage is 5~42V, and the output current is limited to 0~3A.

Now, I need to change the input to 3V and the output current to 6A.What should I do?

  • Hi User,
Thank you for your interests in the LM25118. Please read the LM25118 Datasheet, Note (2) under Section 6.3 on page 6: the IC requires at least 5Vin to startup. Once it is startup, the IC can sustain operation with VIN dropping as low as 3V.

To increase the lower to 6A, you need to change to a larger inductor able to support full load without saturation, and you need to reduce the current sense resistor to avoid trip the cycle by cycle current limit. Please use the design tool at the following link to help you to modify the EVM.
