LM5122: LM5122

Part Number: LM5122

Hello!

1. What are the differences between the parts LM5122 (Q1) and LM5122ZA?

2. I'd like to dimension an isolated output. How can I calculate a transformer?

3. What's the difference between the Catalog and Automotive rating?

Regards

Ralph

  • Hi Ralph,

thanks for select TI boost devices. the engineers supporting these devices are out of office because of the holiday. they will reply you after back to office later this week or next.
  • Hi Ralph,

The LM5122-Q1 and LM5122ZA are very similar devices. The major difference is qualification and package.

Are you trying to implement a flyback regulator? What are the application specifications?

Difference in Automotive and commercial qualification is based on the guide-line set be the AEC-Q100 standard.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
  • Hello Garrett!

    Thank you for your answers!

(I received your E-Mail on 07.01.. Why, I don't know. I should have looked in the community.)

    Yes, I'd like to dimension a PSU for Vout=57V @ 21A.
It would be better to use the AC-line for Vin, but I have a very strong server-PSU with 12V/1400W.
I'm a bit indecisive. So, if you can recommend me an AC/DC-IC for the about 1200W, I will check this datasheet!
The overall circuit complexitiy with the AC/DC-solution would be less?

    Regards,
    Ralph

  • Hi Ralph,

With the power levels of the application I think it is going to be better to select a different topology other than a flyback. A forward converter might be a better solution. I suggest opening a new thread requesting help selecting a forward controller or a full bridge controller.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
