TLC59108: Control with GRPPWM

Part Number: TLC59108

Hi

My customer has question.

The customer wants to use TLC 59108 and simultaneously control LEDs 0 to 7 with GRPPWM.

How can I control with GRPPWM?

Best Regard

T Kishi

  • Hi, Kishi,

    You can refer to datasheet 9.6.1.4 Group Duty Cycle Control Register (GRPPWM) for details.

    In a word, you need to use table 10 to select LEDOUT and use GRPPWM and GRPFREQ to realize it.

    Please help to click "Resolve" if the problem is solved.

    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Kenneth
  • Hi

    Thank your for reply.
    The customer set the LDR0~7 to "11" and changed the duty with GRPPWM, but the LED did not light.
    Are there any points to set other than the above settings?

    Regard

  • Hi, T Kishi,

    Do they set RESET high?

    Thanks.

  • Hi Kenneth

    Yes.
    It can be turned on when individually controlled with PWM0~7, but LED can not be controlled with GRPPWM.
    Is there anything else you need to control?
    also,Is it possible to tell me the procedure for controlling all the LEDs with GRPPWM from the power on?

    Regard

  • Hi, T Kishi,

    Please refer to the following procedure:
    00h: customer can use their value;
    01h: send 00h;
    02h-09h: send FFh; Please make sure PWM is FFh if using GRPPWM.
    0Bh: customer can use their value;
    0Ch-0Dh: FFh

    Then customer can use 0Ah(GRPPWM) to change the group dimming.

    The point is keeping PWM for PWM0-PWM7 as FFh.

    Please help to click "Resolve" if the problem is solved.

    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Kenneth
