Hello,

Suggest a suitable controller IC for AC/DC converter of 2200w , Input 230V 1 ph 50hz, output 72 vdc, i need PFC correction and isolation, this requirement is for LI-ion battery charger.

Hi Sathishkumar,

For the PFC stage you could use the UCC28180 CCM PFC controller, www.ti.com/.../UCC28180, or the UCC28070 Interleaved CCM PFC controller, http://www.ti.com/product/UCC28070.

For the Isolation stage I recommend the UCC28951 which is new version of the UCC28950 phase shifted full bridge controller and is a drop in replacement, http://www.ti.com/product/UCC28951.

We have a couple of reference designs that might be of interest.

Is the any demo module is available of combining both PFC and isolation section( i.e combine module of UCC28180 and UCC 8951) .

Hi Sathishkumar,

There are web orderable EVM's for both the UCC28180 and UCC28950/1 on the product web pages. The UCC28180 EVM is about 300W and the UCC28951 is about 600W.

TI does not have a combined PFC + PSFB EVM.

TI does not provided demo boards of the reference designs but it does provided the gerbers, schematic and BOM to allow customers to assemble the design themselves.
