BQ24266: BQ24266

Part Number: BQ24266

We implement BQ24266 at our new product and unfortunately the charger is not working

The issue describes below:

when the USB2 (in fact I am using Power Source 5VDC @ 3A ) and  the battery 1 cell Li-ion 3.7 Installed  I can’t see current consumption

The Monitored values are:

  1. TS – 2.65V @ VDRV= 5V
  2. ISET – configured to 400ohm
  3. USB1- Low, USB2&USB3 – High
  4. The Input voltage to the charger 5v

 Pls. advice...

  • Hi,
Could you also provide circuit for checking?
BTW, how about /CE pin and VDPM pin setting?
And if this is new design, then I will suggest BQ25606 because this part now is NRND.
    Thanks
  • Hi Paul

The Input Voltage is 5VDC (USB 2)

The CE tied to GND VIA 10K resistor

    VDPM indicate 1.4vdc

1 CELL 3500MA Li-ion installed with NTC or without NTC I tried both option (when NTC was not implemented I pulled TS to high)

The Iset resistor replaced to 400ohm

    i tried configure  IUSB1, IUSB2 IUSB3  as follow:

    IUSB1- 0, IUSB2=High, IUSB3=HIGH

    Then i tried as follow:

    IUSB1- 0, IUSB2=0, IUSB3=HIGH

But still the charger is not charging!!

I noticed when removing the Battery the Output voltage regulated -that's mean that the charger can switch the battery or the input voltage

When installing back the battery still the Output voltage regulated but it's not charging

The DRV working fine it's bring the 5vdc voltage

    Any idea what went wrong?

This happen with several cards which came from production

I cant move to different Charger at this stage

    Any idea what went wrong?

    Thks

    Yair

  • Hi

Could you send circuit to my email box, paulyeh@ti.com? I would like to double check.

    Thanks

  • Hi,

After changing 33pF to 33nF, this issue is closed.

    Thanks
