Hello All, 

I am a newbee to wireless charging and I seriously need help. I have never worked on this kinda of projects and any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated. I do have a 4.2 V lit-Ion Battery that I need to transmit charge through air to the receiver side. I seriously dont know what are the options out there, specially with TI. First question is that would these transmitter chips also know (feedback) that the receiving battery side is fully charged, thus to shut down the continuous charging process?  I was reading online but it seems that there is two chips required for the transmitter side to work. One is the BQ50002A and the second chip would be the BQ500511A. Is there a one chip solution for this matter? Is there any easy chip that could be simpler to use? 

Secondly, I'm looking for a battery charging chip that would charge a 3.7 volt lit-Ion battery that would also check the battery level to shutoff if the battery is fully charged.

    We have several reference designs that could be used as a starting point for your designs. See TIDA-00318 or TIDA-00669 for RX and TIDA-00623 or TIDA-00334 for TX

    Is there any easy chip that could be simpler to use? -- Bill J - Take a look at the BQ500212A this have more parts but is also popular. TYLT VU Solo design is based on this device. It is available on Amazon.

    The battery charger IC could be BQ24040. For more info on battery charger see below link.

    Many thanks for your fast response and sorry for my late response. All of the information above is the details that I was looking for. I have another question, So I have this switch that when it gets activated the charging would start. I assume the the BQ50002A and the BQ500511A would automatically stop the wireless charging when the battery pack hits the 100% mark. By thinking that the chips control (BQ50002A and the BQ500511A) the wireless charging I need a logic system that when I hit the switch two times (at least 1 minute a part) the charging logic stops completely. Any recommendations? Also if the switch is before the BQ24040 would I need a switch filter(regulator). Does the BQ24040 have an internal switch bouncer to prevent any noising signal generated from the switch?

" -- Bill J - The TX will only stop if the RX sends command to stop (EPT). RX will need to detect charge complete them send command. BQ51050B can do this. But BQ51013B does not.

Any recommendations? -- Bill J - To control the BQ50002A / 511A with a logic signal look at the EN pin on 002A, this is input from 511A. Resistor between the two would allow you to control it with external circuit also. Another option is to disconnect the 3.0V from 002A (pin 4) to 511A (Pin 40 / 32).

" -- Bill J - The BQ24040 will cycle on / off with USB point connection, should not have problem with switch bounce.

    Again thanks for the response but I do have more questions here. I have looked at the BQ51050b, This is a Wireless charging Receiver, I need a solution that would be acting as a Transmitter and a receiver in one chip, to read the current amount of the call phone battery that is charging and then depending on what the amount is then it will either stop the charging or would add more charge to make the battery pack fully charged. BQ50002 and the BQ500511 are Transmitting but they don't read. I only have one coil that could be receiving and Transmitting, but with the chips provided I don't have a clear understanding of how to make this a transmitting and receiving logic. Could you please guild me through this process. 

    Also as for the BQ24040:

    1. What resistor value does the PRETERM have to be (Pin 4)?
    2. For Pin 7 or the ISET2, So if we are not using a adapter source or USB, can this be NC pin? 
    3. The TS pin or Pin 9, I need this TS to be there just in case to make sure that the battery would not heat up. Still confused about this pin and how to use it. Explanation is not clear in Data sheet. 

    Do you guy have a regulator that would have a 0-5 volt input and outputs a clean 4 volts? 

    Lastly, Does TI have a 2A or greater single Iit-Ion Battery charger?
