TPS62800: Need to configure the regulator for PWM mode while setting device for 1.2v output

Part Number: TPS62800

Hi Support team,

Have a chicken/egg question. My customer needs to run the device in PWM mode only, however the power supply is powering the uproc that can be used to control the select pin. Our thought is to use a low leakage diode  such that upon power up, the tps62800 will read the resistor value and power up and then the uproc can pull the gpio high and force PWM mode.

Do you see any issues or gotcha's with this solution?

Do you have a better solution?

Regards

Jeff Coletti

  • Hi Jeff,

    Yes, that would work.

Install a 56.2k on VSEL/MODE and tie the diode from the GPIO (anode) to the VSEL/MODE pin (cathode).
